Associate Advisor
Position Available

Christopher Weil & Company, Inc. (“WEIL”) is a registered investment advisor (“RIA”) located in Carmel Valley, California. Our primary business is providing financial advice and investment management for approximately 450 high-net-worth individuals and families who together comprise roughly $650M in assets under management. We are fee-based, fiduciary advisors, and take great pride in serving our clients in a way that makes a tangible impact on their lives.

WEIL is a non-traditional RIA in some ways. We pay salaries, not commissions, and have no sales quotas. While salaries are tied to market rates and individual performance, profit sharing is tied to firm performance. Almost all of our work is team-based as we have discovered that collaboration results in the best services and products. Every client is a client of the firm, and every client has access to everyone who works at the firm. Excellence and professionalism are very important to us, but we also put a premium on a safe workspace and good work-life balance. As with our clients, when we hire, we hope for an association that lasts a lifetime. We are growing, and want you to grow along with us.

WEIL is currently seeking an Associate Advisor to join our Advisory Team. The Advisory Team is responsible for advising our clients on every aspect of their financial lives, maintaining and sustaining the firm’s relationship with our clients, and cultivating new client relationships. The Associate Advisor will be tasked with supporting the Advisors in all levels of their work. This position offers the opportunity for hands on training, earning a great deal of experience working with high-net-worth clients, and the opportunity to be promoted to an Advisor (in time).

WEIL offers a competitive salary, the opportunity to earn quarterly bonuses, profit sharing (after a three-year tenure), and a 401(k) plan. We don’t put conditions on vacations or sick days, and we supplement California’s Paid Family Leave (PFL) both monetarily and in duration. If the Associate Advisor is promoted to Advisor, WEIL will sponsor them in attaining their CFP® certification.

To qualify for this position the candidate needs a bachelor’s degree from an accredited University. Experience with insurance, 401(k) plan administration, financial planning, client services (at a financial firm), sales skills, or other client-facing roles are a plus.

  • Act as lead advisor for clients with account sizes less than $250,000.

  • If and when appropriate, prepare for and attain the CFP® certification.

  • Become a registered California Life Insurance agent so as to write term life insurance policies, run underwriting questionnaires, and create insurance illustrations.
